The inspiration behind Nonna
the origins
Ten years after founding Zannier Hotels, Arnaud Zannier embarked on a new chapter: creating a collection of restaurants, boutiques and experiences inspired by the Mediterranean art of living.
Familiar with Menorca and drawn to its relaxed spirit, he chose the island as the first home of this new adventure, alongside Île de Bendor in the south of France. Two islands that share a strong sense of hospitality, a love of good food and a culture of gathering and sharing.
At the heart of Nonna are memories from Arnaud’s childhood, spent each summer with his family in the south of France: long days by the sea, large tables filled with food, loved ones gathered together and the simple pleasure of having nowhere else to be. These memories became the inspiration for places where people can reconnect, celebrate and enjoy time together.
A new life for Mediterranean heritage
SINCE 2022
Nonna’s development is rooted in a desire to preserve and bring new life to emblematic places, giving historic properties a new purpose while respecting the heritage and character that make them unique.
The journey began with Nonna Bazaar, formerly Ses Truqueries, a 17th-century finca set within a traditional Menorcan farmhouse and surrounded by 400 hectares of cultivated land. It continued with Nonna Beach, created from the reconversion of the historic Es Banyul finca, and Nonna Picnic, a retail concept in the heart of pedestrianised Ciutadella, within the historic Palacio de Ciutadella.
Across these spaces, traditional architecture and local materials – from terracotta floors and weathered zellige tiles to aged wood and stone – are preserved and brought back to life.
This philosophy extends to France with Zannier Île de Bendor, continuing Paul Ricard’s legacy and contributing to the preservation of the island’s cultural heritage. Nonna seeks to give characterful places a new lease of life, transforming them into vibrant spaces to gather, celebrate and create memories.

Nonna's philosophy
Rooted in the Mediterranean and inspired by the art of slowing down, Nonna brings together three distinct concepts – Nonna Bazaar, Nonna Beach and Nonna Picnic – each designed around the pleasures of good food, beautiful surroundings and time well spent.
From barefoot days by the sea and leisurely picnics to shared plates, party-infused dining, cocktails, live music and consciously curated shops, each concept offers its own expression of the Nonna spirit.
Food is at the heart of the experience, but it is only part of the story. Music, nature, local craftsmanship, outdoor activities and spontaneous moments come together to create easy-going, authentic spaces designed to be enjoyed together.
